Friday Night Betting Primer: Grizzlies bounce back vs OKC?Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies (-6 | O/U: 230)
Relatively speaking, Oklahoma City has been scorching of late. The Thunder have won three of their last four, and covered the spread in each game by an average margin of nearly fifteen points. Further, OKC has gone Over in five straight, scoring an average of 130 a game during the streak. Much of the Thunder’s early season success can be attributed to G Shai-Gilgeous Alexander’s prolific start. The fifth year pro is averaging 32.3 points-per-game on the season, and has emerged as a dark-horse MVP candidate.
Meanwhile, despite their 9-6 record, the Grizzlies are an abysmal 5-10 ATS on the year. Memphis has lost their last two games by double digits, and have gone 7-2 to the Under since Halloween. Perhaps Memphis can find their footing back at home, but the loss of G Desmond Bane, and the reintegration of F Jaren Jackson Jr. into the lineup may take some time to accommodate for. Still, be reluctant to dismiss the Grizzlies. Shai-Gilgeous Alexander has impressed this season, but G Ja Morant will be the best player on the court tonight.
The Thunder have a shot at attaining a .500 record tonight, as the team looks to consummate a four game road stretch with an upset victory in Memphis. But will they?
