Thursday Night Football Betting Primer Tennessee Titans @ Green Bay Packers (-3.5 | O/U: 41)

Matchup Preview

The Packers’ Week 10 victory over Dallas may have saved their season, but it will all be for naught if they give it right back Thursday versus Tennessee. Rodgers and the Pack have historically been an ATM for sports bettors, although the team has uncharacteristically struggled as a favorite this season (1-5 ATS). Perhaps their victory Sunday evening signals a changing of the tides, but this matchup with the Titans is not ideal.

Green Bay throttled Dallas on the ground to the tune of 207 rushing yards, and such success was crucial in propping up the team’s previously absent passing game. The issue, however, is that Tennessee’s defense is not susceptible to opposing rushing attacks. The Titans own the top rated defense against the run, and if Green Bay struggles to move the ball on early downs, the team may find themselves in an offensive funk once again.

Conversely, Tennessee’s offense is less than threatening. The team is four days removed from nearly losing to the Broncos at home, and have yet to win a game by more than one score. The Titans have been fortunate to cover seven straight, as the team’s style of play perpetually keeps the opposition in the game. If this matchup is contentious into the fourth quarter, it will take some stomach to have money tied to QB Ryan Tannehill, and the one-dimensional Tennessee offense.
