The Premium Tuesday NBA Preview: Golden State Warriors @ Milwaukee Bucks (-3 | O/U: 232)
It’s a stacked Tuesday slate in the Association, headlined by a marquee matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks. In such a highly anticipated contest, let’s dig deeper into the matchup:
These two title contenders have had starkly different starts to the season. Golden State has stumbled early on in their title defense, currently slotted ninth in the Western Conference with a 14-13 record. The Warriors have not been their best selves this season, and it has been particularly obvious on the road. Away from the Bay, the Warriors are 2-11 SU and 3-10 ATS, and their disparity in Net Rating is as large as any in the league.
Golden State, and particularly their defense, was excellent Saturday vs the Celtics. Those Warriors are title contenders, and a great team to bet on-- But can we expect that version of the team to show up to Milwaukee tonight?
As to the Bucks, they’ve had an excellent start to the season, and their 19-7 record is second only to Boston. The team admirably endured the early absence of SF Khris Middleton, but have had issues adjusting to his return. Middleton has seen extensive action in four games this season, and in those games the Bucks are 1-3 ATS. Additionally, the Bucks lost outright to Houston in their most recent action Sunday, and are now absent PG Jrue Holiday tonight.
The recent shuffling of their rotation has resulted in less than stellar basketball from the Bucks, and the team will be forced to do so once again tonight. Further, the team’s loss to the Rockets was confounding, and perhaps a signal of a forthcoming rough patch.
Can the Bucks rebound at home following their let down in Houston? Or will the Warriors maintain the same defensive ferocity exhibited vs the Celtics this past Saturday?
